File formats for technical translations and software localization
Transline USA translates documents from nearly all file formats using Windows, Mac and Linux.
You choose whether you want your translation in the source format or in a different format to which the structure has been converted - Transline USA will handle the conversion process for you.
We can translate pure text files, XML files and XML derivatives or XML-related files (such as HTML, SGML, etc.) and deliver them in the set of characters that you specify - e.g., ASCII, ANSI, UTF-8, big5, gb2312, etc.

Translatability of file formats
File formats differ in their translatability. Some formats (such as WinWord) can be translated directly by the translator without any technical preparation. Other formats such as QuarkXPress have to be pre and post-processed to assure the quality of the translation.
Using transcycling® and terminology databases, which can result in increased quality and reduced costs in the case of large volumes of text or repetitive translations, is only possible for most file formats if the documents have been pre-processed/pre-flighted.
Therefore, the translatability of a file format is an important part of pricing at Transline USA.
